Ingredient Spotlight - SEAWEED

All of the ingredients we put into StarBars are carefully researched and selected for the benefits they bring to your hair. Protect shampoo and conditioner both contain an amazing supercharged element- Seaweed!

The seaweed extract we use in StarBars is fucus vesiculosus, also known as bladderwrack. Bladderwrack is an edible brown seaweed that has been used in natural medicine for centuries. It grows along the coastlines of the Atlantic and Pacific Oceans, the North and Baltic Seas, and various waters in Canada and the United States. Rich in vitamins, minerals, and antioxidants, bladderwrack is used both internally and topically. 

Many of the topical benefits of bladderwrack focus on hair growth and protection. It contains antioxidants to shield hair from harmful environmental hazards like sun, pollution and smoke which cause hair to look dull. We also find Amino Acids, the building blocks of the protein in hair, in seaweed. Introducing amino acids particles to hair helps rebuild and restore damaged strands, resulting in stronger and healthier hair. Finally, the minerals in bladderwrack (including iodine, phosphorous and potassium) work together to promote hair health, growth and hydration. 

So what does this mean? Seaweed, used in Asia for centuries, actually can cause your hair to grow longer, thicker and stronger. It adds shine and protection to your hair.
